Easy Stuffed Cabbage Rolls in the Crockpot

Ingredients:

1 large cabbage
One yellow onion
3 garlic cloves
1 pound Mild Italian sausage
1 pound Ground hamburger
2 cups white rice
2 eggs
24oz tomato sauce
2tbs Worcestershire sauce
1tbs of the following seasonings (optional)
Red chili flakes
Dried dill
Celery salt
Garlic powder
Italian seasoning
Black pepper
Dried lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Freeze cabbage for 24hours then thaw completely.
  2. Gently remove layers and trim then set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combined finely chopped onion, and 3 pressed garlic cloves.
  4. Add in 1 pound of mild Italian sausage and 1 pound of ground beef with 2 cups of cooked rice, 2 eggs and seasoning.
  5. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the bottom of the crockpot and outer bruised leaves to line the bottom of pot.
  7. Pour in 1/3 of tomato sauce and spread with evenly.
  8. Prepare cabbage rolls and stack them in crockpot.
  9. Pour remaining sauce on top and any unused smaller pieces of cabbage.
  10. Firmly press down to remove any air pockets.
  11. Cover and cook on low for six hours.
  12. Let cool for 30 minutes.
  13. Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy
